Battle of Five Armies in 6mm!

Well,

Another commission completed for a customer here in Phoenix. This one took a bit longer due to the size and me loosing a weekend in Las Vegas attending the Throne of Skulls. This commission was to paint the Battle of Five Armies box set, which all the figures are in 6mm. So here you go, some inspiration for you all...

Here are all the armies that come in the main game, that would be five of them!

And just so you know just how large these figures are, here is a shot of a standard 25 mm figure on the left, while on the right is the 6mm figures.

US Paras & The SPS Crew!

Well,

Another week and another commission done! This one is for a customer up in the Bay area of California and was 3 US Para Platoons for Flames of War. Here is an overall shot of the completed commission.

One thing the customer asked for was a way to distinguish each platoon on the table top. The customer did not want any sort of lines or color marks on the base, so we decided that I would make something out of the basing material. So what I did was to add rocks to some of the bases. Platoon #1 has no rocks on the base.

Platoon #2 has one rock added to each base of the platoon.

Platoon #3 has two rocks added to each base.

This way each platoon is different and easily recognisable on the table but yet the whole army looks similar on the table top with out drawing unwanted attention to each platoon.

Now lastly is a picture of some of the SPS crew in action, since I am just a one man show, I sometimes conscript my wife and son into helping with assembly and clean up. Nice thing is that I do not have to pay them since the funds from SPS go towards the household.

Late War German Commission

Well Folks,

Another big commission was finished this week, this one for a customer out on the east coast. It include about 20+ vehicles and a ton of infantry. I also had to base up some existing figures that the customer had painted elsewhere.

It is always nice to see a big commission come in, but it is nicer to see them go since I know they are going to get used in games.

Here is an overall shot of everything for this customer, it was a rather nice size collection for Flames of War.

Been Busy

Well, Saguaro Painting Service has been busy, first up some Russian Cossacks for a customer. The commission had something like 88 mounted Cossacks. Here are a few shots of the completed models.

Also had another repeat customer send me these Flack Nest, bunkers and US AA halftracks. These were fun to paint and have now been shipped to the customer.

So there you go, now back to painting...

Speaking of painting here is another commission that was finished today for a customer up in Washington State. It is a FoW US M1 155mm Field Artillery Battery with a Fire Direction Center. Enjoy...

Next up on the painting bench are 15mm Teutonic knights followed by another 15mm FoW unit, a small (88+ figure) Cossack unit.

And just a reminder, we are still accepting commissions, so if you need something painted drop us a line...
